Your trip to the Te Anau Glowworm Caves begins with a cruise to the western shores of Lake Te Anau on one of our purpose-built scenic cruise vessels.
Fiordland Jet offers a range of exhilarating rides for adventure seekers, from a thrilling 30-minute jet boat ride which takes you across Lake Te Anau towards Dock Bay, to a 2-hour ‘Pure Wilderness’ journey taking you on the trout filled Waiau River, to the serene Lake Manapouri where you can set foot into ancient beach forests and learn all about the Fiordland National Park history and ecology of the area, whilst getting up-close-and-personal with the local flora, fauna and birdlife.
Te Anau Bird Sanctuary is set on the shores of Lake Te Anau, and is an easy 20 minute walk or 2 minute drive from the Te Rua-o-te-Moko/Fiordland National Park Visitor Centre.
The sanctuary is open to the public from dawn to dusk.
Public tours of the sanctuary run daily at 10.30 am for around 45 minutes.
